THE PROJECT

CompostLabel® is the fruit of the CompostLabel research and development project, carried out between 2010 and 2013, and leading to the development of the whole line of BIOMADE BY GPT® products.
CompostLabel® aims to solve the label waste and disposal problem by fully embracing life cycle management philosophy and eco-sustainability, while guaranteeing all the same performance as analogous traditional products.

The project was conceived and promoted by Polycart SpA, and developed with GPT and the partners of the GPT Network. The constant research and experimentation, thanks to the integration of technologies and know-how of the network, made it possible to create a unique product of its kind, from the transformation of the raw material to the finished product.

PRODUCTS

The final purpose of the project was the innovative CompostLabel®, a biodegradable and compostable adhesive label, fully compliant with the UNI EN 13432 standard, and compatible for application in the food sector.

CompostLabel® is therefore a label that can be disposed of with organic waste, and was OK COMPOST certified in 2013.

The initial project that sought to make use of a bioplastic material has led to important developments in the guise of two new certified biodegradable and compostable adhesive products: the compostable paper label CompostLabel® P, and the compostable thermal paper label CompostLabel® T.
